Therapeutic approaches
& tools
Any modality or tool is offered only when it supports and aligns with your therapeutic goals.
Co-regulation
Co-regulation is a foundational to the therapeutic process. Our nervous systems are constantly responding to cues of safety or stress, often outside of conscious awareness. I intentionally create a calm, grounded therapeutic space where your nervous system can begin to settle and shift out of patterns of chronic tension or overwhelm. You may notice that simply having a consistent space where you have time and space to explore your experiences will allow your thoughts to become clearer and your emotional responses to feel more manageable. Over time, this process helps your nervous system learn new patterns of stability, so you can carry that sense of regulation, clarity, and self-trust into your daily life.
Neurofeedback
For clients who may benefit, I offer neurofeedback as a supplemental modality within counseling to help support the brain’s natural capacity for regulation. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-based training that uses real-time feedback on brainwave activity to promote self-regulation. When appropriate, neurofeedback may be integrated into our counseling work to address symptoms related to anxiety, ADHD, mood concerns, or nervous system dysregulation.
If you choose to participate, you will receive additional information and be asked to sign a separate consent outlining the specific process, potential benefits, and limitations of neurofeedback training.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a type of therapy that helps you become more flexible in how you respond to stress, emotions, and thoughts. It’s about learning to stay present, accept what you can’t control, and take action in ways that align with your values (even when life feels messy or overwhelming). Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort entirely, ACT focuses on helping you build psychological flexibility and take meaningful action aligned with your values. This approach supports lasting change by helping you move forward with greater clarity and intention, even in the presence of uncertainty or discomfort.
Human Design
Human Design is a self-awareness system that combines elements of modern science and ancient wisdom, with the purpose of helping individuals understand the unique way they are designed to move through life. Human Design can be used in the therapeutic setting as a supportive framework for self-reflection and identity exploration, similarly to how tools like the Enneagram are used.
If you're interested, we can explore your Human Design to better understand how your energy operates, how you process emotion, where you may be more sensitive to the world around you, and what supports clarity and focus for you.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps to become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately reacting to them. This increased awareness creates space to respond more intentionally rather than feeling overwhelmed or stuck in automatic patterns. Mindfulness can improve focus, reduce anxiety, and strengthen your ability to stay present and grounded in daily life.
Solution-Focused
I integrate solution-focused therapy to help you identify and build on the strengths and capacities you already have. Even when you feel stuck, there are often small shifts already happening beneath the surface. This approach focuses on helping you recognize what is working, clarify what you want to move toward, and take practical steps that create meaningful change. Rather than focusing only on the origin of problems, we work together to strengthen your ability to move forward in ways that feel realistic and sustainable. Many clients find this approach empowering because it helps them reconnect with their own agency, build confidence, and experience progress more quickly.
